During this COVID-19 Outbreak, We're Here to Help You

Resources to support you

COVID-19 is creating a lot of worry and fear for families. The FRC Network is here and ready to provide whatever support we can. We've created a special Resources to Support You During this COVID-19 Pandemic section on this website. And Mass 2-1-1 and the Department of Children and Families are here to help you during this time with additional information and resources.

Following guidance from the State of Massachusetts, all FRCs are serving the community, and available to support families. Some of the FRCs are not physically open, but are providing assistance to families by phone. These are:

This is a challenging time for all but we are all going to get through it. We are here to help.

Race & Social Justice

Systemic racism is at the root of many social disparities and inequalities. Discrimination comes in many forms. It’s crucial to inform and educate everyone around the issues of social justice and racism, and it’s especially important to talk to children about it.

We’ve compiled a number of resources for parents, caregivers, and professionals looking for help with starting a conversation around racial injustice and recent events in the news with their children or within their community.

About Family Resource Centers

Massachusetts Family Resource Centers (FRCs) are a statewide network of community-based providers offering multi-cultural parenting programs, support groups, early childhood services, information and referral resources and education for families whose children range in age from birth to 18 years of age. A Family Resource Center is located in each of the 14 Massachusetts counties to provide easy access to information and assistance related to health care, safety, employment training, education and peer support. In each of our communities, our goal is to support families to strengthen their bonds, connect to others, and engage in their community. Our core values are: RESPECT, TRUST, SAFETY, WELLNESS, CARING, CONNECTIVITY, and EDUCATION.

FRCs are supported through funding from the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF).

If you are interested in learning more about the FRCs, the work we do, the people we serve, and the impact we have had on families across the state, please read our executive summary. You can also learn about the struggles one young adult faced, and the help that the Family Resource Center in Springfield can provide kids and young adults with similar experiences in this story and video on MassLive’s website

Testimonials

Thank you for the information! Thank you for listening to me and holding my hand. I hope you and your family are good. Would it be ok for me to reach out to you in the future and let you know how things are going? Please take care. (During COVID-19 pandemic.)

We are doing the hardest job in the world, and probably the most important one, being parents. None of us were trained for this, we’re just supposed to know. There’s nothing like a little support to help when you’re not sure you’re doing the right thing, or when you need encouragement…and sometimes we just need information.

...The staff at the Springfield Family Support Programs Family Resource Center have been amazing to work with. We, on behalf of the 4C (Collaborative Consultative Care Coordination) Program out of Baystate Children’s Hospital, are so grateful to have this program as a resource…
