Cool Ideas for Summer Fun

Have you started thinking about what you would like to do this summer with your family? How about going on an adventure or learning something new? There are hundreds of fun and educational things to do across Massachusetts – and many of them are free!

Free Fun Fridays

The Highland Street Foundation offers free admission to many places in Massachusetts on Fridays over the summer, with a different group of options every week. You and your family could visit a new museum, zoo, or theater every week this summer – at no cost! Check out which locations are hosting an event on this calendar.

Check out what your local library might be offering

Public libraries often offer discounts and free passes to local attractions including museums, aquariums, and even boathouses. The Boston Public Library allows members to reserve museum passes for single-day use. For those in the Springfield area, the West Springfield Public Library offers discount passes for local attractions like children’s museums and science centers. Next time you visit your local library, ask if they offer any museum passes!

EBT Card to Culture

Did you know EBT card holders can get free or discounted admission into art galleries, museums, theaters, and more? Families that use EBT benefits could visit the EcoTarium in Worcester with access to three floors of interactive exhibits, live animal habitats, and more – all for only $2 a person. Check out this list to see if any other participating programs are in your community.
